Family Involvement
The extended school day (7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.) allows ample time for students to complete their homework assignments and participate in enrichment activities. As a result, academic requirements after school are minimal. Each Marian Girl must have a supportive, caring adult to ensure she has reliable transportation, balanced nutrition, adequate sleep, a clean uniform, and encouragement in her school experience.
We ask that each student’s caregiver sign off on a weekly family folder, complete 15 engagement hours yearly, and attend two student-parent/guardian-teacher conferences a year.
Tuition
Marian Middle School offers a private school education to girls from low-income backgrounds. Tuition rates are calculated on a sliding scale based on each family’s gross household income and adjusted for household size. Marian works with families of all levels of income to ensure a high quality education is available for every student who applies. We are able to work with families of all levels of income because tuition fees are significantly augmented by individual, foundation, corporate, and organizational giving.
A Day In the Life of a Marian Girl
Adhering to the NativityMiguel model of education, Marian Girls commit to an intense 10-month, 10-hour schedule, where they develop critical thinking, problem solving, leadership, and life skills that will take them successfully into the next chapter of their academic career. The school year begins in early August and ends in early June. Throughout the school year, students attend many Academic Saturdays. Academic Saturdays are weekend field trips or special events that relate to topics covered in the classroom and offer further opportunities for learning, empowerment, and skill building.
