A St. Louis native, Jody Brent has been serving children and families as a social worker since 2004. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and her Masters of Social Work from Saint Louis University. Jody is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Initially as a social worker, Jody worked with children and families in their homes providing crisis management services, improving coping strategies, and assisting with basic needs. Jody worked for over 15 years at a state operated psychiatric hospital and residential treatment program for children and adolescents. She served as a clinical supervisor in the residential program for 9 years before joining the facility’s executive leadership team serving as the chief of clinical services to all programs. This work allowed Jody to engage with children, family and community agencies from all over the state of Missouri. Jody is experienced in child development, social/emotional skill building, improving coping strategies to be safe and successful, and trauma processing. Now a part of the Marian Middle School team in the role of School-based Therapist, Jody supports middle school students, as well as Marian alumnae in high school and college.
