Moraa Nyaribo is a Kenyan multidisciplinary artist, educator, designer, and entrepreneur. Her practice explores African heritage, Black identity and joy, family, adornment, and cultural identity through fiber, textiles, jewelry, ceramics, wood, metal, and mixed media.
Moraa holds a BA in Art & Design, specializing in Fashion and Textiles, from the University of Nairobi and an MFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). She is a recipient of the M-AAA Artist Support Grant and Regional Arts Commission of St. Louis support grant, and a Kranzberg Arts Foundation Artist-in-Residence. She has exhibited nationally and led workshops at the Pulitzer Arts Foundation and 21c Museum Hotel.
Moraa is also the founder and creative director of USHA.NGA, a St. Louis-based jewelry brand creating sculptural, contemporary pieces inspired by African heritage and adornment. She has taught with Craft Alliance, The Magic House, and STL ArtWorks.
Moraa brings her versatile expertise in multidisciplinary design and traditional techniques to the Marian community. She inspires students to experiment across different materials, think critically about cultural heritage, and develop their own artistic voices as the next generation of creators.
