Through the Plant the Moon/Mars Challenge, our students are exploring how to grow food in simulated Martian soil and gaining hands-on experience in space science. Their dedication to STEM and learning is truly out of this world!
As we celebrate our 25th year and look forward to a bright future for Marian Girls, we remain focused on an important truth: 21st century careers require a mastery of STEM through an innovative curriculum that combines multidisciplinary and hands-on learning. Aeroponics, the newest class to join our robust STEM program, has created quite the buzz around school and our neighborhood! So much that it was recently featured on Nine PBS.
In an era in which schools are closing due to poor performance, funding challenges, staff shortages, and low enrollment, Marian provides reliable, sustainable, and proven education for girls with limited means, but high potential. The drop in math scores alone are projected to reduce lifetime earnings for 48 million pandemic-era students by $900 billion in lost income. But Marian is proud to report that our students are achieving triple the proficiency of their local counterparts, closing pandemic gaps.
We are thrilled to share that President Mary Elizabeth Grimes received the St. Louis Business Journal’s Most Influential Business Woman Award. This award honors her exceptional leadership, vision, and contributions to St. Louis and the education community, including her work with Marian and other community initiatives. Her dedication continues to inspire us all and fill us with immense pride.
We are ecstatic to share that on December 8th, Marian signed a partnership agreement with A.T. Still University of Health Sciences! Our partnership will build educational opportunities and holistic support for Marian alumnae to create a pathway for admission into ATSU programs.
