Freba Will Be Marian’s 33rd College Graduate.

A model of persistence, Freba sets her sights high. Her dream of practicing ER medicine here in St. Louis is getting closer all the time.

A 2010 graduate of Marian Middle School, Freba has taken full advantage of the mentoring and advice offered by our Graduate Support team. With their help, she raised her GPA and ACT scores and shadowed at Mercy ER. She went on to volunteer with the Red Cross and SSM while working as a Medical Scribe in the  Mercy Emergency Room. She loves the quick pace involved in a level one trauma center! “You walk in and have no idea what kind of day it’s going to be. I love that!”

Leadership

Freba is a leader who earned a spot as a Triton Health Educator on UMSL’s campus, and serves as the health and wellness coordinator. Through the Next Step Internship Program for Career Development, her team works with a mentor to plan events that offer healthy solutions for students on campus.

The Future of Marian

With a positive outlook, Freba looks forward to what lies ahead for Marian Middle School. “I hope that Marian can expand. Maybe build another school in another place. I think Marian is good for girls at this age when they’re so impressionable and I think you guys are building really powerful females. As I get older I’m like, Wow! Marian is more than just a middle school. That support system is great. I’m so grateful that I went here. I would like to come back here and contribute somehow. I would love to mentor!”

We’re all looking forward to that! Freba will be Marian’s 33rd college graduate in December and looks forward to preparing for the MCAT.
