Nautica, Class of 2013
“As I watched Nautica give her salutatorian speech at her graduation from Cardinal Ritter, I couldn’t help but remember just how far Nautica has come during her Marian journey. From breaking pencils out of frustration during her placement test, to temper tantrums and grumbling under her breath while doing chores, Nautica was not always your typical joyful Marian Girl. However, as she experienced the love and support available at Marian, she grew into a confident, mature, and happy young woman. A diligent student, she earned the second highest GPA in her high school class while taking college level courses. She interned at Ascension before her junior year and plans to study health care administration in college as a result. Nautica shows the impact that Marian can have – from a surly fifth grader with high potential to a smiling salutatorian heading to college.” ~Kaitlyn Sanders, director of college and career success (summer 2017)
